Greg and SMO Mashup tagged me for 5 reasons why I blog so here they are:

Soapbox Effect:
Blogging provides me with a platform to share my opinion on a variety of SMO and Internet marketing related topics. I believe that I can add value to the social media conversation and that is why I started the blog.

Community:
Having a voice or opinion is no use if nobody is listening. When I first started writing about social media optimization last fall, the only other people talking about it were Lee, Cameron and Rohit. Social media has really exploded in popularity since then and there are some tremendously talented people who are writing about social media marketing now.

One of the questions that clients are always asking is how they can use social media optimization tactics and techniques to drive traffic to their web site. At Braveheart Design we have found that local search provides a great opportunity to web site owners to rise to the top of the search results page through social media tactics.

So I was not surprised to see that SuperPages.com has now introduced user-generated content into their site. As their press release pointed out:
