Selling Social Media Marketing Internally
It is an issue that many marketers face. You know that social media marketing will help your company/brand/product/service grow online. The problem is how to you convince your boss and their bosses of the value of social media marketing? Well recently Rohit had a great post on this very topic.
In the post Rohit identified a couple of activities that you can do that will help you sell SMM internally. They are:
People are talking about us or our industry. Using Technorati or Google’s Blogsearch, do relevant searches for your brand name or your industry by using tags (for Technorati) and keywords (for Blogsearch). Note the number of blogs or conversations listed and have those numbers ready to share.

How TO Run A Successful StumbleUpon Advertising Account
Long-term readers of this blog it is not a secret that I am big fan of StumbleUpon (SU). I find that SU traffic stays longer and views more pages than any other traffic source. This month I will receive more traffic from SU than from Google making me less sensitive to any algorithm changes that Google makes in the future.
Being such a SU fan I am always looking for new ways to get more traffic from the site. So when I saw that Darren Rowse at Problogger has written an article on buying StumbleUpon traffic I was very curious to see what Darren to say.

Marketers Still Struggling With Social Networks
AdvertisingAge article this week spoke about how marketers have started to use CRM advertising on social networks instead of ads. It seems that marketers have woken up to the fact that social networks work a little different than traditional advertising, and that throwing up ads without engaging in a conversation will not work.
As Debra Aho Williamson, analyst at eMarketer says:
“What’s been a challenge is figuring out a model that expands the beauty of social networking,” she said. That’s partly because it’s easier to buy display ads and sponsorships than to create completely new programs; it’s also not exactly clear how to monetize a role as a long-term, relationship-building tool.

Who Do You Want To Read About
The interview series is the most read section of the blog and I have been working through a list of people that I wanted to hear from. But now I want to hear from you about who else I should try and interview. Would you rather read about what someone like Rand Fishkin (plug for next week’s interview) has to say about social marketing or would you prefer to hear more form people like James Connell of Roots Canada.
Leave you suggestions as a comment below

Build Website Content with Yahoo Answers
One of the thing that never ceases to amaze me about social media marketing is its versatility. Savvy marketers who are thinking outside the box (air quotes) can use different social media in a wide variety of ways to promote businesses and websites.
Case in point - one technique that I am falling more and more in love with is using Yahoo Answers to generate website content.
Thats right my friends, Yahoo Answers is now good for more than just links and traffic! Simply pose the right question and the YA community will happily save you hours and hours of researching those fresh and educational web posts.
