Some really interesting data from a survey by Ipsos OTX for Askmen.com. The survey found that overall Facebook is second amongst all men as their preferred way to keep in touch with their friends.
And it is not just young men that prefer Facebook as the chart below shows. Men over 29 prefer Facebook.
Facebook usage was high among respondents, nearly 70% of whom said they logged on to the site regularly.
While The Media Audit found in July that some 55% of the US Facebook audience was female, that still leaves a large share of men to target on the site—and 70% of male internet users is no small audience.
And with men more comfortable than women with location-based services, Facebook’s new Places feature may catch on more quickly among males, giving marketers an even greater opportunity in this department.

That’s a really catchy title. Facebook is for all, men and women, young and old. But I admit, I’m a man and I’m really comfortable with facebook that any other social media site. Facebook is more fun too compared with the others.
This study reflects similar trends for female users, who too lean towards Facebook for keeping in touch. I also think the debate re to Facebook being a “youngsters” playground have also died – the reality is very opposite. Thanks for sharing…
Interesting study, whichever way you cut it Facebook has become a huge source for men and women alike to keep in touch with their social circles. I can definitely see more men responding to the Facebook places app in the future, as women tend to be more cautious about those types of things. Even having spoken to many women about this new Facebook feature, they tell me they aren’t completely comfortable with the idea of Facebook broadcasting their whearabouts.
I think facebook is the best social networking site today. The reason being is that it is user friendly and we can easily market our business in this site. Facebook is not limited only for specific person but all persons as well. It is also an effective way of gaining friends with a particular interest. In the end, facebook is something that one person should have.
