Some interesting stuff from the Center for Excellence in Service (PDF) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business about how small-businessess are using social media marketing.
The first number that jumped out at me was that only 20% of the small businesses surveyed used social media at all, a number that is unchanged in the last six months. An astonishing small number.
For those companies that do use social media, the most common sites used are:
- Facebook – 82%
- LinkedIn – 38%
- Twitter – 30%
The study supported some previous research about social media that customers are connecting with companies through sites like Facebook and LinkedIn, but relatively few sales leads have been received through the sites.





It is really facebook that uses is the best social networking site nowadays. However, there are also instances that users in facebook maybe a spammer. But I am amazed what LinkedIn does also. I thought it was twitter who will be following what facebook has achieved.
