That is not a typo. According to the latest comScore figures, MySpace lost 10 million unique users between January and February of this year, going form 73 million to 63 million in a matter of four weeks.
And that is not even the worst of it. This time last year, MySpace has 95 million unique users. That means in a year they have lost over 30 million unique users!!

According to Adweek, there is bad news for brands who are rushing to social media sites. Young people don’t want to be friends with you! According to a new report from Forrester Research, just 6% of 12-17-year-olds who use the web want to be friends with a brand on Facebook.

With more and more businesses using social media, eMarketer estimates four out of five US businesses with at least 100 employees will be marketing on social media this year, it is interesting to note how measuring the success of those social media interactions are changing.
Site traffic, which was the top metric for social marketing success in 2010, will still be on top this year. But the emphasis on conversions is apparent as in 2011. The number of CMO’s measing conversions this year will be 65.7%, up from 32.6% in 2010. Internships.com just ran a recent paid ad campaign on twitter using Charlie Sheen, and the numbers are very impressive.
Internships.com paid at least 100K for an Ad.ly campaign to advertise a social media intern job position, and Sheen tweeted their ad twice.
